We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Working COSS (Controller of Site Safety) to oversee safety procedures and ensure compliance across our sites. This role is vital in maintaining a safe working environment and supporting the smooth operation of various site activities.

Daily travel will be required, covering work sites across the West Coast of Scotland, with occasional travel to other locations as business needs dictate.

Duties:

  • Responsible for ensuring where a safe system of work has been established and aware of the control measures and requirements.
  • Personal safety and ensuring all duties are carried out at minimum risk to themselves and others.
  • Verifying Safe System of Work Packs, at least one shift in advance.
  • Drawing management’s attention to any shortfall in their competence or knowledge, to enable them to carry out their duties safely.
  • Ensuring all accidents/incidents are reported in accordance with company and local procedures.
  • Ensuring all instructions cascaded down from management are implemented on site.
  • Taking an active role in ensuring all safety & environmental matters are properly assessed before undertaking any duty.
  • Carrying out first level risk assessments and identifying/implementing control measures prior to starting working on site.
  • Attend safety meetings/briefings as requested
  • Ensure sufficient knowledge/experience to carry out their duties safely and with minimum risk to themselves and others.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) – essential
  • Controller of Site Safety (COSS) – essential
  • Full UK driving license
