An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Manager to join our team. The Site Manager will be responsible for managing and supervising the delivery of infrastructure projects and maintenance orders on site, to ensure that projects and orders are completed to an agreed programme and cost and to the required HSQE standards. This role will be based in Glasgow, operating out of our main office in Elderslie, however travel throughout Scotland may be required.

Role Responsibilities;

  • Manage the set-up of construction sites, in accordance with company standards and procedures
  • Efficiently procure plant, materials and manpower to enable projects to be progressed in accordance with programme
  • Lead and direct labour and subcontractors on site to maintain compliance to programme
  • Manage the use of plant, material and manpower on site in order to minimise wastage and maximise productivity
  • Prepare task briefs and risk assessments for multi trade site activities
  • Monitor compliance with Works Package Plans, Task Briefs, Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments and take corrective action where non-compliance is noted
  • Check plant received for calibration/safety certification and monitor regularly to enable “out of date” items to be changed or off hired
  • Manage the quality of construction and monitor compliance with designs, construction drawings and standard details

Requirements:

  • A valid SMSTS certificate
  • Knowledge and understanding of working practices within the Rail Sector
  • Relevant experience in the construction industry, within a managerial/supervisory role
  • Hold a recognised technical qualification
  • Working knowledge of health and safety legislation relating to construction.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) competence
