We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced knowledgeable, confident and enthusiastic EHS to join our HSQE team, based in our head office in Elderslie (Glasgow) 

Operating throughout the UK, CPMS are dedicated to delivering sustainable infrastructure support services across the rail network.We provide a comprehensive range of services, including – Building Fabric Maintenance and Renewal, M&E Installation and Maintenance, Electrical Testing & Inspection, HVAC, EV Charge Points Installation & Maintenance, Gas and Oil Heating & Hot Water Systems, Civil Engineering, Depot M&E Systems, PPM and 24/7 Reactive Maintenance. Our clients include Network Rail, Train Operating Companies, Freight Operating Companies, Heritage Railways and Light Rail.

Essential

  • EHS Manager with experience of the construction industry, preferably within rail but this is not essential.
  • Have or be working towards IOSH membership.
  • Have or be working towards PISEP previously PIEMA.
  • The ability to develop and oversee processes and initiatives to ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and standards.
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a multi-site maintenance environment
  • Valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) card, desirable but not essential as training will be given
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn to use specialist software
  • A broad range of building and communication skills, along with sound commercial awareness

Role responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

  • Ensuring that the company adheres to current Health, Safety & Environmental – legislation, regulations, standards and industry best practice.
  • Identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing control measures to prevent incidents.
  • Developing training needs for employees, promoting a strong safety culture and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents and near-misses, determine causes and implement corrective actions.
